If you have been blessed with a daughter, you are one lucky fella. Seriously, if all things in life are a constant, having a daughter is the best thing to have happened.
I have one and she is 9 today – Happy Birthday! From watching Chotta Beem cartoons to now reading my childhood comic books of Asterix, many things seem to have changed and yet remained the same.
Every day I learn that I am getting to relive my childhood and she has already matured beyond her age. It is in her actions that I see her 10 years from now today. Sometimes it scares me and sometimes, I am at loss.
I hope I live long enough to be with her through all the good and bad. We want to go camping in our Land Rover, not once, not twice but many times. We have to make a road trip from India to Europe and back. We want to do the Chaddar trek together, we want to do the EBC. I have to teach her Skiing. We have to go to many an art exhibition to see her paintings. We have to bake together. We have to cook many storms.
We have to bunk college. We have to buy those skinny dresses. We have to fail many times to learn more often. We have to come back drunk, as long as I get to drive her back home. We have to do all the bad shit without breaking the law. We have to go to an IVY college. We have to help people in need. We have to be good human beings.
At the end of it all what will be, will be. What we have to be is HAPPY!
